Nóta do thuismitheoirí agus caomhnóirí fá Iasacht Ipad- Notice to parents/guardians about lending of school tablets/Ipads:

We recognise that not every family has easy access to a digital device for their child(ren). We would like to help those families that we can, by offering a loan of one of the school devices for the coming school year.

Most children will be engaging with teacher via the See Saw online platform, and will need to use or share an internet enabled device for this.

However, we have a limited number of devices that we can offer on loan to families. Devices will be allocated to families based on need, according to the following categories:

  • Families with no device at all
  • Families with only smartphones
  • Where the only devices in the household are needed for parents working or for siblings studying for second-level exams
  • Families where the proportion of people to devices is low e.g. 6 in the house and only 2 devices
  • Other

If your family would like to apply for the loan of a device, please contact teacher/principal and we will arrange this.

Families borrowing a school device will be asked to sign our Home Use of School Equipment and  Acceptable Use Agreement. Please read this agreement before applying to borrow a device. See lending agreement here: http://www.scoilfhionain.ie/pages/polasaithepolicies.php

The funding and further details regarding the pilot scheme will issue directly to your school in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, any queries can be directed to social_inclusion@education.gov.ie

This article makes for interesting reading! The incidence of headlice seems to be on the increase in Ireland.

Experts say it matters little which shampoo or treatment you use, the weekly, time-consuming check you carry out with a headlice comb is what is most effective.

Long hair is best tied back in braids/ponytail.
